See Selena Gomez's Vampy 'Same Old Love' at 2015 AMAs

See Selena Gomez's Vampy 'Same Old Love' at 2015 AMAs:

Selena Gomez performed a vampy, theatrical version of her latest single "Same Old Love" at the 2015 American Music Awards. The track appears on Gomez's recent solo album Revival.

Strutting down the steps on the AMAs stage and surrounded by noir-ish dancers, Gomez belted out the Charli XCX-penned song. The bedazzled singer also grooved with her tuxedo-clad male back-up dancers for the stylish performance.

At last year's AMAs, Gomez gave an early preview of her new music with an emotional rendition of her power ballad "The Heart Wants What It Wants." In February, she paired up with Zedd for the joyful EDM track "I Want You to Know" before releasing her more stripped-down, sophomore solo LP Revival. The album featured a guest-spot from A$AP Rocky on single "Good for You" and a co-writing credit from Charli XCX on "Same Old Love."

Beginning in May, Gomez will embark on her Revival tour, which will launch in Las Vegas and wrap up at Los Angeles' Staples Center on July 8th.

One Direction Bring 'Perfect' Performance to 2015 AMAs

One Direction Bring 'Perfect' Performance to 2015 AMAs:

One Direction kept it simple as they performed their latest single "Perfect." The track is featured on the band's fifth album, Made in the A.M.

The band delivered a stripped-back version of the infectious pop song for the ceremony. Armed with just mic stands and no extraneous background visuals, the quartet showed off their vocal chops, both together and individually, on the soaring track. The winners of this year's Favorite Duo/Group — Pop/Rock gave a similar low-key performance at the 2014 AMAs with their single "Night Changes."

The boy band recently released their fifth album, Made in the A.M. It is also the first following the departure of Zayn Malik. "There's a lot of love and loss and success and failure crammed into this," contributing songwriter Julian Bunetta told Rolling Stone. "We just had the most fun you can ever have doing it. That's the truth."

Malik, who signed to RCA over the summer, recently gave his first in-depth interview as a solo artist and detailed why he chose to leave the pop group. "I wasn't 100 percent behind the music," Malik told Fader. "It wasn't me. It was music that was already given to us, and we were told this is what is going to sell to these people. As much as we were the biggest boy band in the world, it felt weird. We were told to be happy about something that we weren't happy about."

Watch Gwen Stefani Belt 'Used to Love You' at 2015 AMAs:

Gwen Stefani performed her emotional new breakup ballad "Used to Love You" at the 2015 American Music Awards. During her set, Stefani kept it simple and stripped back as she belted out the ballad in front of images of her intimate video. The No Doubt singer was introduced by Alicia Silverstone and Jeremy Sisto of Clueless in a reunion of the teen movie cast mates, who noted that Stefani and No Doubt's "Just a Girl" featured prominently in that film 20 years ago.

Stefani has been teasing a highly-anticipated follow-up to 2006's The Sweet Escape, her most recent solo album. In 2014, she debuted two new songs, "Baby Don't Lie" and "Spark the Fire" for an album she's since scrapped. This year, she released the emotional ballad "Used to Love You" following the announcement of her divorce from Bush's Gavin Rossdale and revealed she's working on new music post-breakup.

"I think I have enough for probably two albums," Stefani told Beats 1's Zane Lowe following the release of "Used to Love You." "I have to write a few more songs, because I feel like, might as well keep going while it's there."

Throughout the past few years, her band No Doubt has played a number of festivals, including New York's Global Citizen Fest in September 2014 and this year's Rock in Rio USA. The band's most recent LP was 2012's Push and Shove, which was their first since 2001's Rock Steady.

Nick Jonas Delivers Epic Hits Medley at 2015 AMAs

Nick Jonas Delivers Epic Hits Medley at 2015 AMAs:

Nick Jonas performed a medley of his recent solo hits at the 2015 American Music Awards. Jonas' older brother Joe introduced him with the help of his new funk-pop band DNCE. The younger Jonas Brother took over from there, launching his three-song set with a slowed-down take on "Chains," with just the singer playing a piano to accompany his vocal performance. After that, he smoothly segued toward a full band rendition of his latest single "Levels," which ended with a drum solo delivered by Jonas himself. He wrapped up the exciting medley with his biggest solo hit "Jealous," which included some assistance from a gospel choir.

Following the Jonas Brothers' split in 2013, the youngest of the trio released his first post-boy band solo album in 2014. It was his first solo album since his pre-Jonas Brothers Christian pop debut, Nicholas Jonas. The 2014 album saw Jonas shifting more towards R&B and trap-pop, and he's continued the shift with his latest singles "Levels" and "Area Code."

In October, Jonas and fellow ex-Disney star Demi Lovato announced a joint headlining tour. Future Now will be the sixth tour the pair have embarked on together over the course of their careers. Their first was in 2008 when Lovato opened for the Jonas Brothers on their 2008 Burnin' Up tour. In May, the pair launched a new record label together called Safehouse.

See Coldplay's Trippy 'Adventure of a Lifetime' at 2015 AMAs:

Fresh off debuting A Head Full of Dreams material at a Los Angeles concert Saturday night, Coldplay performed at the American Music Awards Sunday for the first time in seven years. For the ceremony, the band put a psychedelic spin on their bouncy new single "Adventure of a Lifetime." Backed by colorful, swirling graphics, Coldplay's take on the Stargate-produced track was a joyous and trippy one as, towards the end, a group of dancers in gorilla costumes made an inpromptu circle around singer Chris Martin, who joined in the revelry.

Coldplay announced their latest LP, A Head Full of Dreams, in early November, with its release scheduled just 18 months after 2014's Ghost Stories. The album, which will be available on December 4th, features guest appearances from Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and Chris Martin's ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. "Everyone who got asked to sing on our album has an important part in our lives," Martin told The Wall Street Journal earlier this month. "I don't want to get too hippie, but what I'm trying to learn in my life is the value of every human."

Martin continued to explain the album's "hippie" nature in an interview with Rolling Stone. "It's about love and acceptance and embracing what happens to you," he said. "All of our records were a journey to get to this one."

Watch the Weeknd Set Fire to 'The Hills' at 2015 AMAs

Watch the Weeknd Set Fire to 'The Hills' at 2015 AMAs:

The Weeknd performed his hit single "The Hills" at the 2015 American Music Awards. For his AMAs take on the track, the R&B singer pulled much from his fiery tour performance of "The Hills." Flanked by a pyrotechnic-heavy stage design, the Weeknd delivered an exciting rendition of his sexy hit that's been dominating the charts. By the end of the song, nearly the entire stage had been set aflame around him.

Abel Tesfaye released his sophomore album Beauty Behind the Madness in late August following the success of its singles "Often," "The Hills" and "Can't Feel My Face." The album — which features guest appearances from Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey as well as production and songwriting credits from Kanye West and Max Martin — hit Number One on the Billboard 200 while "The Hills" is currently holding the top spot on the Hot 100. Earlier during the American Music Awards, Beauty Behind the Madness was named Favorite Soul/R&B Album.

Currently, the singer is in the middle of his massive Madness fall tour. His diverse set of openers include Travi$ Scott, Banks and Halsey.

Celine Dion Delivers Touching Paris Tribute at 2015 AMAs

Celine Dion Delivers Touching Paris Tribute at 2015 AMAs:

Celine Dion made a special appearance at the 2015 American Music Awards Sunday to pay tribute to those killed and injured in the tragic terror attacks in Paris on November 13th. The French-Canadian singer delivered a breathtaking rendition of Edith Piaf's "Hymne A L'amour" amid beautiful images of the City of Light and many of Paris' landmarks.

Dion was introduced by Jared Leto, whose band 30 Seconds to Mars played at the Bataclan in the months before the terror attack, a venue Leto called "beautiful, peaceful and unforgettable." "What a difference a day makes," Leto said. He then remembered all those lost in the "horrific and senseless tragedy," including Thomas Ayad, a record label rep killed in the Bataclan attack. Leto also reiterated that Americans shouldn't shun Syrian immigrants in the wake of the tragedy.

Over 120 people were killed in the ISIS-perpetrated Paris terror attack, with most of those victims attending the Eagles of Death Metal concert at the city's Bataclan venue, including the band's merchandise manager Nick Alexander. A week after the attacks, many of Paris' nightclubs and venues reopened this weekend.

See Demi Lovato, Alanis Morissette Belt 'You Oughta Know' at 2015 AMAs:

Demi Lovato and Alanis Morissette joined forces at the 2015 American Music Awards to perform the latter's iconic hit "You Oughta Know."

Lovato's collaboration with Morissette was her second performance of the night; the singer had previously belted out her biting, pop-rock song "Confident." She maintained the vocal ferocity and attitude as she and Morissette strutted across the AMA stage while belting out the Nineties mega-hit.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Morissette's massive debut Jagged Little Pill. She's celebrated with a massive, collector's edition reissue that contains rare demos and a live recording of a London concert that featured members of Foo Fighters and Jane's Addiction in her backing band. While promoting the reissue, Morissette has been updating her hit "Ironic" with various late-night hosts, including a version with James Corden that included references to Tinder and Snapchat.

In October, Lovato released her fifth album, Confident. She'll embark on an extensive co-headlining tour with fellow ex-Disney star Nick Jonas next year.
