In the wake of President Donald Trump's announcement via Twitter to reinstate a ban on transgender people openly serving in the U.S. military, the dance music community has reacted strongly to the news.

Trump tweeted Wednesday morning (July 26), "After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow...... Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming..... victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you."

Artists, record labels and event producers alike have candidly expressed their thoughts on the matter. See their reactions below:

We stand with all members of the LGBQT community, most of which are more brave and empowering than this senile old man.

If you're transgender just know you are and will always be treated as an equal.

i don't think we have fully accepted that the president of the united states is actually a sociopath, and is incapable of empathy.

Allowing all people to serve the US military is not a matter of defense but a matter of being a country worth defending
