Seventeen, Heize & Cosmic Girls Join KCON 2017 LA Lineup

Seventeen, Heize & Cosmic Girls Join KCON 2017 LA Lineup:

With the addition of Cosmic Girls, Heize and Seventeen, the West Coast leg of KCON USA presented by Toyota adds 27 more Korean stars to its growing concert lineup.

The three acts join VIXX, Girl’s Day, Astro, NCT 127 and SF9 for KCON 2017 LA’s headlining two-day concert event.

Thirteen-member boy band Seventeen will take a break from their North American Diamond Edge tour for a stop at the Staples Center. A rising act with a dedicated fanbase known as Carats, the group became known for their youthful and funky vibe during the first two years of their career. They switched things up earlier this year and delved into synth-driven electropop for their recently released Al1, which earned the group their biggest week of sales in the U.S as of yet.

Cosmic Girls, or WJSN, is a Korean-Chinese girl group. Like Seventeen, Cosmic Girls also has 13 members. The team debuted last year with the saccharine “Mo Mo Mo” and electro hip-hop track “Catch Me." But it wasn’t until they switched up their sound and visual style with August's The Secret EP that Cosmic Girls proved their staying power with a blend of atmospheric synth pop and fantastical music videos. The group returned earlier this month with the upbeat summer cheer song “Happy.”

Heize is the first soloist announced for KCON 2017 LA. A rising star in Korea, the singer-songwriter has rapidly garnered attention with her hip-hop and indie leanings. She recently dropped a pair of singles, the playful alt R&B “I Don’t Know You” and the jazzy “You, Rain, Clouds” on June 26, and promptly began topping Korean music charts.

KCON 2017 LA, the largest Korean culture festival in the United States, takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Staples Center Aug. 18-20.

Additional announcements regarding the lineup will be revealed in upcoming weeks. Combo tickets going on sale July 14 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, while single-ticket sales follow on July 17.
