Silverstein Premieres Hard-Hitting New Track 'Mirror Box' Ahead of Latest LP: Exclusive:

Post-hardcore veterans Silverstein have released a new album every odd year since 2003. Their decade-and-a-half run is an honorable testament to consistency; to pull that off, you’ve got to be artistically prolific, armed with plenty of people who want to hear your music and a special few who want to help you release it. This week, they're ready to strike again.

Silverstein’s journey has taken them from Victory Records during the emo boom of the early 2000s to a sustainable existence in the present, where they’ll release their second album for Rise Records this Friday (July 14). Before they share Dead Reflection in its entirety, Billboard presents the exclusive premiere of a choice track straight from the Silverstein wheelhouse.

“Mirror Box,” track six on the new set, finds the Ontario band wielding an anthemic chorus over chainsaw riffs and a sturdy, pummeling beat. For frontman Shane Told, the album was born out of the end of a four-year relationship, which sent him tumbling into what he calls “the most troubling year” of his life. Listen below to hear how that sentiment drove the fury behind Silverstein’s latest track.

Dead Reflection was co-produced by Derek Hoffman and Silverstein guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau. It’s up for pre-order here, along with the band’s upcoming live dates. They’re currently trekking North America on the Vans Warped Tour.
